Join Our National Fertility Walk & Talk on 27 September

Advert for fertility Walk & Talk, features title, date, picture of people with their arms around each other in walking clothes

Pop it in your diary now: Sunday 27 September, 3pm – at a park near you!

We’re so excited to launch our new Fertility Walk & Talk, alongside Hannah Pearn, founder of Don’t Tell Me To Relax, with the brilliant fertility podcast and community, and an array of fertility acupuncture clinics.

This national event will bring charities, individuals and communities together in real life, side by side, to walk, talk and simply be around people who understand.

Like so many good ideas, this started with a ‘we should really do this’ conversation between Katie and Hannah that lasted for well over a year. Now, we’re making it happen!

What is a fertility Walk & Talk?

The idea behind our Fertility Walk & Talk is simple. Create spaces, in real places, across the country, where anyone affected by infertility or a reproductive health condition can come together, for free, in a safe, inclusive environment.

To walk. To talk. To have a brew. To meet people who get it, without needing to explain themselves.

There is no expectation, agenda or judgment – just pure and simple support with a smile and a cuddle, if you want one.

We’re aiming to host these walks three times a year, the first will be on Sunday 27 September, at 3pm at various locations across the UK and Europe.

Find a fertility Walk & Talk near you

We have walks confirmed in multiple locations across every corner of the UK ranging from Newport to Newcastle, as well as in Jersey, Edinburgh, Cornwall, the Netherlands and Australia.

As soon as the final details are firmed up we’ll upload information about the individual locations. And, if you’d like to host a Fertility Walk & Talk in your area, please email Clare on volunteer@fertilityaction.org to chat about how we can support you.

Want to volunteer as a Walk Host?

You don’t need to be an expert, and you don’t need experience running events. You just need to care, and be willing to show up. Every host will be fully supported from the start, with a safeguarding and a participation agreement provided, so nobody is figuring this out alone – and every walk is hosted by at least two people.

Join us on the day

If you’d just like to come along, this is your invite. It’s totally free to attend, we just ask you to register at your location so we have an idea of numbers. Add your name to our Walk & Talk mailing list to be advised when registration is open.

Bring yourself, a friend, your dog, great Aunt Zelda (!) or bring nobody at all and meet some of our amazing community when you get there – you’ll always be made to feel welcome whoever you are, and whatever your family-building pathway.

More than 70 organisations and volunteers have already come onboard to host or support a walk, and people from right across the fertility and reproductive health community have reached out wanting to be part of it. It has honestly been incredible to watch this come together, and it says everything about how much this community wants spaces like this to exist.

This is just the beginning

The plan is for the Walk & Talk to happen three times a year, in September, March and July, building a rhythm of connection that people can rely on, wherever they are in their journey.

So save the date and fill in the form above to be alerted when registration is open and information about future events or dates for your diary.

If you’ve read this far – what have you got to lose? We know that family-building pathways can feel incredibly lonely, and we’re determined to change that for you.

We’d love to see you there!
